How Much Money has Biden Sent to Ukraine?

Since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022, the Biden administration has provided Ukraine with approximately $135 billion in aid, spanning military, economic, and humanitarian support. This substantial commitment includes equipment and assistance to sustain Ukraine’s military defense and bolster its government and economy amid ongoing hostilities. The U.S. Department of Defense, for example, has supplied air defense systems, armored vehicles, artillery, and other essential military resources to reinforce Ukraine’s capabilities. Additionally, the U.S. has funded initiatives aimed at providing critical humanitarian relief to help address the crisis’s impact on civilians in Ukraine and surrounding regions.

Congressional appropriations for Ukraine include several aid packages, with the most recent requests seeking an additional $24 billion. Some of this funding indirectly supports broader U.S. strategic interests by countering influence in areas like Eastern Europe and providing international infrastructure assistance to counterbalance global competitors. As the war continues, this aid package may face more debate in Congress due to concerns about prolonged involvement and potential economic implications within the U.S. itself
